Boy in Sao Tomé

For some years ago I was in Sao Tomé filming together with Lasse Jensen who is a old Danish journalist. Most people will ask where in Gods name is Sao Tomé located? Well, it’s out from Africa’s coastline, close to Nigeria. In fact it’s independent (and very poor) and called Sao Tomé & Principe, which is the other big island. The boy is sitting on an ancient air plane in the old airport. The armed guard, proud standing with an rusty AK-47 (no photos) asked me if I had any ammunition, because he didn’t. If I had he would let me try few rounds. The image is analog shot with Canon Eos30 and a cheap lens.

My mom

Perhaps the most important woman in the world, my mom. I owe her all. Shot with Canon 5D and 16-35, 2,8. Still a great lens. Shot in autumn 2006. She’s born in 1925 and still going strong.

Sleeping Malay

My favourite country is absolutely Malaysia. Great people and perhaps the friendliest in the world. This guy is one of my many good friends in Kuala Lumpur. His fantastic wife Rose woke him up when I came for visit. Often I wish more westerners but also people from the Middle East and Central Asia would go to Malaysia and see how Muslims act and live in peace with other races and religions. Shot on analog Canon 1N. I think it’s from 2003.

Cuban guy in car

Cuban guy

In Havana, Cuba this guy was very proud of his old American car. It’s actually a socalled drive-by-shot as he passed me in low speed. Cuba is really a great place. Just sad that nothing works. Shot with good old analog Canon 1N with a cheap 28-135 mm. This image is from 2002.

Young bush boy.

In South Africa I bumped into this young boy in the bush. He or his parents didn’t speak any English so I never got his name. In fact I used a Canon Ixus 400. On 50 ISO it was a great camera for its time.

Girl in South Africa

Girl from Oudtshoon, South Africa, shot on Canon 10D with a cheap 28-105 lens. Year 2004.

Close to Oudtshoon, South Africa I shot this fantastic girl. I was invited to join a ceremony for a young boy who has been circumcised. The photo is from 2004. I used a Canon 10D with a cheap 28-105 lens.
