A man and a chair

In Sao Tomé I had the plesure to meet the author and journalist Sir Frederick Forsyth. Very english but incridible sympathetic and a fantastic personality. I can also recomment his books. The latest (as I’m aware of) is The Afghan. Read it. Shot analog.

Havana citylife

Again in Cuba. Same story about poverty. Communism was in theory great but in real life it never worked. When the stat dictate you what to think, things go wrong.

Santa Clara. Boy with a selfmade kit in a windless street.

Girl in Cienfuegos.  I estimate her to 4 years.

The local hustlers. They can make more money in the streets of Havana than a universitey proffessor make a month. So why take a long education?

But it’s not fair to say everything is bad in Cuba. This musisian loved it and despite all I loved it too. All images are analog shot with Canon 1N.

Gambian life

In late 2006 in Gambia I met Mr. Music or just Modou. He was a great drum player. He tried to make a living as musician. The three ladies I shot from a taxi. And the black guy allowed me take his picture. Sometime it can be more than difficult to shoot photos in West Africa. Many gets angry. Gambia is a country with great poverty – as many in Africa. Life is a everyday struggle here. As one said to me “no matter how poor you are in your own country, your still richer than most of us here”. He couldn’t be more right. All images with Canon 5D and 24-105L or 70-200L.
